Thomas Papadogiannis-Varouchakis is an associate at Ioannis Vassardanis and Partners. He has been involved as a researcher, advisor and drafter in a wide variety of projects undertaken by our law firm, ranging from corporate and civil law to administrative and public procurement law, as well as international investment and commercial arbitration.

Having amassed valuable academic and professional experience through his studies in both civil law (Greece, France) and common law (England) jurisdictions, Thomas specialises in corporate and financial law and is capable of dealing with complex legal issues, such as corporate financing, IPOs and M&As, by approaching them in a multi-jurisdictional manner. At the same time, his responsibilities as an associate at Ioannis Vassardanis and Partners include the drafting of legal documents on administrative and civil law matters for the Council of State and administrative and civil Courts of First Instance, research on public procurement law and advising on ICC and ICSID international arbitration cases.

Prior to joining our law firm, Thomas worked for Interamerican S.A., a multinational insurance company seated in Athens, Greece, where he provided court assistance to lawyers, reviewed insurance contracts, researched civil and insurance law matters, and cooperated with the accounting and compliance departments of the firm.

Thomas has received the Skadden Arps Trophy (1st place in global oral rounds), the Baker Mckenzie Prize and the Oxford University Press Prize, as a member of the University of Athens Moot Court Team that participated in the 2015 Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition in King’s College, London. His is also a Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) scholar for his Minor Degree in Finance at the American College of Greece, as well as a Leboulanger & Associés scholar for his participation in the 2018 Paris Arbitration Academy for International Commercial Arbitration.
